BOTOX® & XEOMIN®
XEOMIN® is the most recently approved botulinum neurotoxin available in the United States.
XEOMIN® is a prescription medicine that is injected into muscles and used to temporarily improve the look of moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows(glabellar lines) in adults.
XEOMIN® is in the same drug category and has the same mode of action as BOTOX and DYSPORT.
BOTOX® Cosmetic is a chemical which is used to temporarily reduce the appearance of wrinkles in Men and Women from the ages of 18 to 65. It is injected into the forehead, between the eyebrows, and around the eyes.
BOTOX® is FDA approved since 2002. Dr. Haupt has been prescribing Botox Cosmetic for over a decade and feels completely comfortable doing so.
BOTOX® has benefits which last anywhere between 3 to 10 months, depending on the person. After the effects start to diminish, further injections are necessary to keep the wrinkle free appearance.
The procedure is simply a few injections to the area the patient feels would be best suitable for less wrinkles. It can be completed very quickly, and patients can return to their normal activities immediately following the procedure.
