PHOTOFACIAL (IPL)

Photofacials are treatments that use intense pulsed light to correct discolorations in the skin. Photofacials are great for evening out and brightening the skin tone! They target the vascular reds and brown pigmentation in the skin. Photofacials can be performed anywhere on the body, but most commonly on the face, neck, décolleté, and hands.

Photofacials Are Best For:

Sun spots

Liver spots

Hyperpigmentation

Rosacea

Blotchy skin

While this depends on each individual, many will need at least 3 treatments, some requiring 3-5 treatments. Multiple treatments are recommended to be scheduled one month apart. IPL Photofacials also pair very well chemical peels and our Skinpen microneedling!
There is some discomfort, feeling like a rubber-band snap with a flash of bright light. Topical numbing cream is applied before treatment to help ease the discomfort.
Your skin will be a little red and flushed which usually lasts a couple hours after your treatment. You may also experience a sunburn-like sensation. Any brown spots will look immediately darker and become even darker over the next day or two, almost like coffee grounds on the skin. Most of the redness will dissipates by the next day. In 3 to 4 days after the treatment the dark brown will start to flake off. By 7 to 10 days after the treatment, the skin will be done flaking and a more even toned, brighter complexion can be noticed!
