Radiesse is a synthetically derived compound that is injected into the face to smooth wrinkles and folds. Skin testing is not required. Radiesse is FDA approved for sub-dermal injection.  Radiesse gives you a natural looking, wrinkle-reduced face.  

Radiesse injections take 15 to 30 minutes and may involve some minor discomfort. Expect some redness, swelling and bruising that will typically resolve in a week. The results are immediate. Radiesse results typically last 18 months.

Fat injections (also known as fat grafting) were used more frequently as a filler treatment substance before the arrival of the previously listed compounds. Fat injections require removal of fat from a donor site, elsewhere on the body, which is then injected into the area to be corrected. Today, fat injections are used to fill deep wrinkles or folds.

Juvaderm is FDA approved hyaluronic dermal filler.  It has a formula which is a gel consistency.  It also includes a small amount of the local anesthetic called Lidocaine to help with the injection.

Juvaderm is used to decrease the appearance of folds and wrinkles in the lips or the nasolabial folds.  It also is used in lip enhancement because of the gelish consistency.  When used for lip enhancement, it creates thicker, fuller lips.

Belotero has certain advantages over Juvaderm and Radiesse because this filler is the only current available hyaluronic acid filler to treat superficial or fine lines. Some other hyaluronic acid fillers can cause a bluish hue if they are injected too superficially (close to the skin surface), as light reflected through the skin may bounce off the clear filler. This is not the case with Belotero.  Belotero last similar to Juvaderm.
